Hi folks

Newbie here.........I have a 2008 A6 Avant S Line with the following on the MMI

SW: C6-HU 51.4.0 0731 and HW:C6-HU 635OD2.0 alongside
FC SW: 05071AFC6AB320060 and FC PS: 0060 FC HW: H01

truth is I have no idea what all these numbers mean or if I have 2g MMi High or otherwise ! it is a full colour screen and I have sat-nav and bluetooth (connects to my Iphone 4 no problem) I have looked at upgrade discs and I am just wondering if it would be worthwhile ! I also have a 'locked' (I'm assuming) sat nav DVD which from reading other posts I need to unlock with vagcom. I am guessing, as it is a 2008, there maybe an update DVD available too.

Any help deciphering all of the above would be appreciated and if there are any vagcom owners in Glasgow maybe we could meet up...??

cheers folks

Sounds like 2g MMI high running 5140 software. You can update to 5570 if you want. If you already have 3D sat nav view (you should have it already) then you wont gain much from an update as its mainly bug fixes.

You can get 2011 DVDs for the nav mapping. This is separate from the software CDs. Updating the maps won't update software and vice versa.

cheers and thanks for the quick response - much appreciated. I kind of thought as much re: the MMI so I'll prob hold off as I am happy with the system so far and not sure what 'bug fixes' would actually do....

As for the sat nav dvd I will go check out prices and see if it is worthwhile then get hold of a vag-com to get the old dvd out !

If anyone can recommend what else I could do to upgrade MMI (i.e add iphone interphase to play itunes) that would be helpful.

The AMI option is useful. That'll allow iPod/USB playback of mp3 tunes. £350 though but it's very good.

The bug fixes in the software update won't do much. If its running fine now I doubt you'll notice any difference.

Map DVDs are cheap ish on EBay etc and there are always other less legal options.
