Hello guys i need a bit of help with fitting number plates to my car (Audi A4 B5 2000 W)

I have just Purchased some Pressed Plates as well as a surround to fit the plates in.

I dont want to use double sided tape as twice already my front plate home come off, and this is without the additional weight of the surround that will now be fitted.

I am going to go down the tapped screws method.

My questions are..... if i drill the surrounds in:

1) Will i need to watch out for any parts that i could damage if i am putting screws in all four corners of both the front and back of car (at all four corners of the surround, no bigger that the number plate itself)

2) Does anyone have a brief write up\tips on how is best to do this?

3) Does anyone see this as being a bad idea, especially screwing four screws into the back of the car through metal, not plastic?

I really appreciate any help on the matter. I know i am probably going to get he " use double sided tape its easier, but due to the cost of surrounds and plates this is not an option for me.

I have previously used heavy duty stick backed Velcro.
It's really strong and I doubt you'd lose your plate.

I have already decided on screws so if anyone can help inb this area i would really appiciate it.

Since taking plate off at the rear i have found two screw holes. Please can someone confirm the srew size needed if i wasnt going to go down my Audi dealer route (Audi dealer is over 25 miles away)

I used several "self-tapping" screws to fit the surround. They were 20mm long I think. Drill small pilot holes first where you want each screw to go using a 3mm metal drill bit. Be sure to fit in the corners of the holder and central area to avoid any vibration.
