PD 115 bhp, very sluggish car, timing checked using proper lock tools, been on vag-com and snap on fault diagnostic equipment, also been to dales diesel injection specialist..no faults except one( n75 boost valve positive deviation) replaced the n75,still comes up with same fault, but only after driven for a few hours.

Car does not throw out any smoke maf sensor and all pipes have been checked for splits diagnostic shows all to be ok,revs ok on idle, sounds a bit rough/slightly noiser than normal, and heavy on fuel consumption

Any ideas? its a 2001 gt tdi 115 bhp pd engine done 120k.
Can anyone also tell me what that round plastic ball like thing on the front of the engine is and what it does? Car has driven me nuts!

The MAF is unlikely to throw any fault codes b ut it could still be knackered.

Mine was on my old 115 when I had it, an exchange one from VW solved the problem.

i believe that is some sort of turbo resorvoir, i doubt thats anything to do with your issue.

have you replaced or cleaned the MAF?

The toilet float is in fact a vacuum reservoir disguised as a toilet float.

Have you checked all the vacuum lines as a leak will mean the turbo will struggle to operate over its range.

Which can also be caused by sticky vanes on the vnt mechanism.

thats you nearly getting a warning...

watch your attitude ;) mistakes are easily made and i was too busy reducing your stupidly large fonts used on your other posts.

and BY THE WAY the mass air flow sensor is abbreviated to MAF, not MAFF ;)

good luck in getting it sorted :approve:
