white smoke on start up

hi still getting white smoke on start up only happens first start of day after that starts quickly no smoke i have renewed all glowplugs.I was wondering if battery would cause this as engine turns over in morning for approx 30 to 40 seconds slowly then starts, the rest of day it turns over fast and starts straight away.Could the smoke be unburnt fuel as its pumping for 30 to 40 seconds.I was thinking maybe a new battery might stop the smoke.I might be clutching at straws but this is driving me crazy, any thoughts anybody

If its cranking too slowly I would try a new battery or it may just need a good charge
