i have audi a6 2.0 diesel 2004 new shape the problem is on my car first my engine management light was on and i took the car to diagnose the mechanic told me injector problem ,i did not replace the injector and run the car like that about 4 months than some times when i was driving my car i was losing the power if i go over 80 mile then i had to re start the engine and the car running normal and one day when i was driving the car suddenly i lost all the power ,the engine was still running but no power car is not moving at all gear changing ok but the car is not moving than black smoke coming out from exost pipe ,i took the mechanic and they told me the injector number 4 and they have replaced within second hand one (all the part number ,manufacturer same )now my car only going 200 yards and losing the power again and engine stop running the mechanic check the turbo and said turbo is ok what could be

Get your mechanic to see if there are any fault codes present within the car.

Only then will we know what's actually wrong :)

Loss of power and clouds of black smoke. Hmmm - that sounds spookily like the symptoms I got when my EGR valve broke - the butterfly had parted company from the spindle inside the valve (this was on a 2005 A6 2.0TDi). No faults were logged so the dealer (in the South because I was away from home) replaced many parts before finding the right one.

Sounds like the same symptoms I got when my intercooler had a leak too, though my Emmissions Control light also came on.

to day i went to my local audi and re diagnose the car there is no fault code is coming up ,the diagnose result showing there is no problem on the car but when i drive the car the symptoms is,car drive perfectly well about half a mile then stop the run i even can not turn the engine on ,i had to wait 2 hours than car start to run again ,but only half a mile my mechanic told me it maybe be my time in belt get loose any idea please help also tomorrow i will check the egr valve

My car also had a split intercooler (at a different time) and the power loss was less dramatic and was accompanied by loud hissing as the boost pressure leaked away. The symptoms you are describing sound just like mine when the EGR valve broke, and I have seen others reporting similar issues, so it seems to be a not-uncommon fault.
