Hi, if I lock and unlock all my doors with the remote, I cannot open the passenger door. I have to open it from the inside, then it also can be opened from the outside - until I lock it again. This makes me believe that all the cables are connected. The handles always have the usual resistance. I have an error code via VCDS of:

Nothing to do with the double click of the fob to open all doors...can be set/unset in DIS.?

Thanks for that, I know what you mean but no it's not that. (I wish it was!) It could be something to do with me dis-lodging something when I removed the door trim to remove a piece of broken glass that was ratttling around. The fault did occur very recently after doing that, it started being an intermittent fault, then permanent. Thanks.

well i had/have the same issue with the driver door. It happened everytime i locked the car for a few minutes and then it wont unlock the drivers door. I took it to audi and they said its an intermittent fault and it wont show on the diagnostics which means they wont be able to do anything about it. well it seemed to get worse for a while when it would just wont open at all but now it seemed to have sorted itself out and does not do it at all. Although i did notice a couple of issues. When i drive the car doors would automatically lock themselves. Sometimes they wont and at other they would lock. Also once or twice the doors would unlock by themselves when im driving in town. Kinda worrying but i only noticed this behavior once or twice. I suspect a loose connection somewhere. Hope this helps a bit.
Then again you have a error on vcds, so it might be something that they could sort out.

Hmmm, thanks Raj. Our problems sound very similar, I too have noticed that the auto locking feature sometimes come on by it's own. Sometimes my convenience closure doesn't work either.....when you hold the remote button down to activate the windows and sunroof. It's going for it's MOT in a couple of weeks so I will get Audi to see if they can tell me what it is. Thanks for the reply.

exactly the same problem in audi a6 c6 2007 2.7 tdi, it started from not opening from time to time, then it was fine for a while but now good few months i have to open it from inside or lower the windows down to pull the inside handle , what a pain ,,,, each time my wife has to wait till i open from inside , which is pretty annoying, took it to the garage but no faults were found at all :( , if someone would have any solutions >?? would be great or if someone has changed the locking system ?? let me know if it helped >>?>?
thanks

I had the same problem with my front passenger door. When it had just about completely packed up I booked it into my local Audi dealer and they diagnosed the problem as being the door locked, which they replaced and it's been fine since then.

Hello again, I am happy to report I have pinpointed the cause and rectified it. It was the door lock that was faulty: Part No 4F2 837 015. (Don't confuse this with the door module.) I tried reapairing it but these things aren't designed to be repaired so I ended up buying one from Audi (£130 inc vat.) There are used ones on ebay but considering the man hours it took me to work out how to get it out I didn't think it would be wise to put another used one in! It is do-able if you are mechanically minded but I wouldn't recommend it, honestly. I am a mechanical engineer and struggled moderately. It involves taking the window frame out (or loosen it) to enable to pass the door lock by the window runnners. I have learnt a lot about my car though and have gained satisfaction from doing it myself. I really would let the dealer do it....they should do it in about 1.5 hours I would imagine. Good luck.
