Thanks for the comments. Yeah we are still restoring the GTI. It's been slow work the last 6 months as we bought a house so money is err... tight!

All that's left to do before roadworthy is the front shocks, clutch and cambelt. Will have to wait until after new year though as my mates garage is having a refurb over the Christmas break.
Rear damage is still requiring repair, but the car can be driven with it like it is, so not top priority at the moment.

The GL has started showing symptoms of a knackered head gasket, white steam EVERYWHERE and rough running. Joys. So will get that sorted , then the alloys refurbed, as although they are aftermarket Wolfrace ones, I think they suit it well and are a bit different to the BBS splits that so many people fit.

Beautiful motor that Mac :) As Jon76 says, the Mk 2 is a modern classic.

Very nice! Loved the "arty farty" shots too - although I didn't quite understand why in a couple of them the Golf was obscured by a bench!! Also enjoyed the token "through leaves shot". It's as if some wierdo is peeking out at the car through a bush, haha!

Nice wheels though :)
