Guys

just brought my first proper audi car. a 07 A6 2.0 tdi.

Its done 140k at the moment and drives sweet.

What ive noticed on idle is a slight misfire. very minimal but still noticeable.

Also in relation to that, what seems to be like a very faint ticking noise coming from the engine when at idle.

when you give it some revs it goes away.

the car starts first time and does not produce any abnormal smoke.

to me it seems like the injector is going but is there a test i can do to ensure which ones need replacing?

also will injectors from other models fit as its the 2.0 tdi 140 bhp a6 i have

Thanks

It is notoriously difficult to decipher which injector is playing up when it is very minor.

You can study the values but normally they are all over the place and trying to make an educated assessment of which one is faulty is not easy. OK, if one is stuck on +2.99 mg then fine, if they are all wandering around +/- <1mg then good luck but if that is the case you usually get a nice solid fault code to work with.

Had same issue on mine mate,
You need VCDS check the torsion value, mine was at -2.7, i cracked both cam pulleys round a bit and its now at 0 and idle is smooth.
Do you find its only poor idle when warm? and gets better if you put aircon on
