Alternative Ballasts for OEM Xenon B6 Passat

Thought I'd throw it up in here, if anybody can give me directions it will be really appreciated!

Gathering parts for my OEM Bi-Xenon retrofit on my 2006 B6 Passat.

Using this parts list:

I have the first 2 (the actual headlamp housings) got so far.

Going to make the 10-12pin halogen to xenon adapter cables with VW repair wires and plugs myself (Mate's VW staff discount :lol: )

Anybody able to advise on the other bits, and prices if they've bought 'em.

As far as I can gather, to get them running without the auto-levelling or AFS (cornering lights) etc.,
I need the ballasts "Power Stage Control Module" (4L0 907 391);
The D1S Bulbs;
And the cables.

And after that then the 7L6 941 329 A (AFS module I think it is).

Afterwards gonna get kufatec.de sort out the auto-levelling and cornering kit and headlight washers.



But anyway to the REAL point...

Are there any alternate parts that do the same job and fit the same, have no access to ETKA so no idea if there are any other part numbers for the ballasts and control modules. I assume the same parts were used in various vehicles but unsure of the interchangeability of the parts. ie the 7L6 part... 3E0 or any others will it do the job?

Trying to keep costs down obviously, so all your help would be appreciated!

Well Sam you found my site!

My car is 2009 model so can say to you that AFAIK the headlights model changed around this time.

I do have ETKA and although my site never got full updated I can try and fill in gaps from memory.
If you can avoid using Kufatec then so much the better!!!


Your CEC (Central Electronics Controller) will have to be a highline model one or when you try to code it for Xenon's it will reject the coding. Found this out the hard way when fully wired in the shutters still would not work.

Aha, wondered if it was somebody on a forum somewhere!

My headlights were made in December 2005, found one 7L6 ballast, just need another, then 2 bulbs, make my own plug adapters and away I go. (they're in then, after comes the expensive bits!)

I replaced my CECM this week for an 3C0......AE item cheaply, that's all good. currently set for xenon without shutter for hid's anyway.
