I've been looking at replacing my car for a while now, but rather than loosing loads more in depreciation on a newer model .... I'm coming round to the idea of spending a bit on my existing car (which I still love)

So 2004 A4 1.9 tdi (130) Avant, needs a bit spending on it

Parrot Bluetooth kit
Spare key (others lost by oringial lease company owner)
4 new tyres - I was thinking Avon ZZ3's at around £400 for a set
USB interface to the Symphony head unit
Fix the rear wiper
**INCREASE THE POWER ! ** - I've seen the tdi-tuning.co.uk tuning box that claims to increase pwer from 128 - 163 BHP
Torque from 210 to 263ib-ft
and increase PMG by 4-6 MPG
simple do it yourself install
All for £120 delivered

Has anyone out there used one .. or have any stories about how good / bad they are ??
I've already looked aroudn the forums and going higher than 170Bhp seems like a bad idea on such an old clutch (140k Miles), but any other (constructive) comments would be appreciated ??

Cheers

Tuning boxes vary a lot in price and its not obvious that they are worth it.I have 2 for my 2.5Tdi and both were over £500 new but got them on ebay for£100 each. One let me down due to poor connections and I have left the other one on cos I think it helps the mpg and I dont need the extra power. They are easy to fit but I wouldnt buy a cheap one unless it was guaranteed to work on a sale or return basis.Always have a spare key but I think its costly and I have heard Falkens are a good tyre and good value
