A4 B6 Gearknob removal and Onboard computer issues

Hi Guys, following on from my previous post, I managed to source myself a nice 2004 2.0 FSI Avant Sport. Nice car with very few issues, although two I'm not sure about, is the gearknob screw on or clip on, and I have on the dash the current fuel range, but the right hand stalk is non on board computer, if i fit this stalk will the computer work? If so will it be automatic or do I need some code work done at the shop.
Please your ideas and experiences

you will nwwd to code the dash to allow DIS to work.
