Hey guys,
been away for a few years since I got rid of my old mk3 Golf, but now need some help with technical documentation concerning the mk2 Golf GTi.
My University and I have just bought a 1989 mk2 Golf GTi 16v which we will be rebuilding and then race prepping at Autosport in January, we are just looking for technical documents concerning this car at the moment prior to any work.
So I was wondering if anyone could direct me to any technical documents or information that is concerned with this particular car, in pdf form would be best but if not then it doesn't really matter. Any technical information/files/documents are welcome, whatever part of the car they concern.
Thanks guys
ritter

This may be of some use to you. Similar to ETKA, but free! :D
Great website of exploded views and diagrams.

EDIT: Just checked the link and it appears the site is down for maintenance for a short while. I have been on it before, so it does work. I promise! :Blush2:

I know of very little PDF material available online but I will help you any way I can. I have an article on the KR engine that I wrote for The Golf+ magazine a few years ago and I have that in PDF form so I could email it to you and I have dozens of pages of PDF info on the suspension/steering/brakes. The Haynes manual (especially the old green covered one) has a reasonable selection of the pre 1990 wiring diagrams and some other useful info, it was written in the days that the Haynes manual was actually useful rather than being a comic. Although not ideal these people do offer some usefull info http://www.bentleypublishers.com/volkswagen/golf/1985-1992/

That would be fantastic :D
I think I have the Haynes manual you are referring to in pdf form (not sure but I have one of the mk2 Golf manuals lol). I will send you a pm now with my e-mail as those pdf files would be great!

Remind me tomorrow, they don't seem to want to go using web mail so I will do it at work.
