This post is rightly here because it relates to a VW alarm siren :1zhelp:.
The alarm on my 1999 Audi A4 (B5 platform) having died of battery corrosion, which killed the PCB, I Googled (other search engines are available ;)) for the cheaper VW part number, 1J0 951 605 A, but apparently the pin-outs are different.
On the Audi siren they are :
1. GND
2. Comm[unication ?]
3. +12V
On the VW siren they are said to be :
1. Comm/Signal
2. GND
3. +12V
Having bought a used VW siren cheaply on a well-known auction site, I'd be glad if someone could confirm this, or otherwise, and say what the consequences could be if I make a mistake !
I hope if this is solved it will enable some of the many sufferers from dead Audi alarms to save a few hard-earned GBP. C'mon, chaps and chapesses, we're all the same family :D.
