I switched my front side-lights from filament bulb to a set of CANbus error free LED lamps...seem to be OK in use, but occasionally I get a 'bulb error' on the display accompanied by a warning tone, after a short while it goes. As I say, the LEDs work fine in normal use, just on start up.
Mines a 2007 MY A3 8P.
Is there anything I can do to stop this from occuring?
Many thanks.

NO - unless you change back to the normal bulbs or get a new battery !!
Canbus error free bulbs cannot be guaranteed to not show a warning. I put mine in 18 months ago and every cold(ish) morning I get an error on the nearside one. Switch off the engine and re-start and after a few seconds the warning goes out.
My battery is pretty knackered and sometimes only shows 10.2 volts in a morning and at that voltage the current is not high enough (even with error free led's) to tell the computer that all is ok. Hence you get a warning. After starting the engine for a minute or so the battery gets a boost up to a more acceptable level and, after switching off and therefore removing the error, when you start again all becomes ok.

Thanks Mike.....I'll get the battery changed as winter prevention job this weekend, in any case, and we'll see if this does the trick!
Thanks again for the reply.
Cheers
