Fault code 379 on A4 2.0 TDI B7

Audi A4 S-line Cab 2006 2.0 TDI B7 with fault code 379 - Boost Pressure Control.

Doing 80 mph in the fast lane the glow plug light came on and dropped the car into limp home mode. Not a pleasant experience! Pulled off at next junction and switched off. The car started again fine and has done 100 miles since without a problem.

Is this a known problem please? Went to local garage and he plugged in the Bosch test rig which pulled up the error code 379 - Boost Pressure Control.

Thanks for any thoughts/help please.

Surely the garage you took it to could give you an indication of the problem?

I dont recognise fault code 379, scan it with VCDS and check the code here http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Fault_Codes if you arent getting the garage to fix it.

Cancel my last. VCDS is the cable and software to do the diagnostic test...

Thickie is now slightly less so.

Is there a recommended one to buy off flea-bay please?

Look cheap as chips at up to £15 with disc...
