Does anyone know how this works on my 2.0 TDI SE ?
On a frosty morning I get warm air from my vents after only about 1/2 mile which is amazing.
Does it use electric elements to heat the air, or does it allow coolant from the hottest part of the engine to flow before the thermostat opens ?

Thats a seperate option, it uses a small diesel burner to give instant heat. it can be operated by remote control before you even get in the car. It costs a fortune and is very rare.

There is a small ceramic type electric heater in all diesels to give you a bit of warm air within a few minutes of starting the car. They are very different options
