Not really relevant here I know, but thing of chopping wifeys Ed30 GTI in for an Sline TT TDI.

Spoke to the sales bod in Norwich and said give me a call if you gt a demo or up to two yer old one in, black or dark grey.

Popped in yesterday as I had 10 mins to kill and what sits there........2009.black TDI Sline...

Give me strength and out of principle I will be asking about it.

Look at it this way, do you really think he would bother to go to the trouble of remembering you wanted one and then going to look up your number, then letting you know?
I have had promise after promise from dealers to do this or to do that, truth is they really don't give a <removed> whether you get the car you want or not.
The days of proper service to customers have long long gone, its about swish showrooms and maximising profits.
I had my eye on an A8 4.2, he wanted 12k for it but the tyres were thin, add a grand to replace them,and the satnav screen kept jamming, add another £600 for that, tried to meet him somewhere in the middle he would have none of it, didn't want my 2.7t biturbo because there were a few superficial scratches on it, well there would be it had done 155k miles.
Went and got the scratches all removed and the car looked like a new pin, then he said no px because his underwriter said they couldn't move it.

Time Wasters , he wanted the 12k and didn't want to budge, six months later its still there but on his brothers forecourt, they shift them around to give the impression they are selling, I knew better.
