Hi Guys,

I'm looking very seriously at buying a sportback dsg sport with over 160k miles on it, this may sound like a pretty daft thing to do but the car looks really clean, I've seen worse condition 50k milers. The clincher on the car is that it had its engine replaced not log ago with a 14k mile one.
So you can see it's a high mile car with a low mile engine!
I'm going to get an indy to look over it but would appreciate what you guys have to say about it. I'm pretty taken with it and thinking of going for it, the thing is what high mile issues are going to affect the car considering the engine is nearly new?
thanks

Paul.

I would worry more about the history of the vehicle. One owner? Absolutely complete Audi service history? Where did the 14K engine come from - a crashed car? Who installed it?

And does the price reflect the mileage? I would treat it as a 160K miler and ignore the newer engine for valuation purposes. Assuming it’s about 7 years old, price should be something like half what a 70K miles example would fetch.

Given all that, I wouldn’t be put off by the mileage as such, though you’d have to expect more things to be wearing out obviously. Anyway, good luck!

You don't state what year the car is- but Audi's do hide their mileage very well interior wise, having one of the best quality interiors out there. If the car has been very well looked after this will also show- is the car for sale from a trader or previous owner?
