Hi all

Got to bite the bullet and get clutch done, having nursed it for a few months now. Been looking through posts, and have done a bit of research, but still not sure about re-fitting a new DMF or go for a conversion kit with a SMF

Some people say go with what Audi have spent £££££'s on developing, others (including a local VAG specialist) say go for the conversion.

Car is a chipped PD 130 (about 165 BHP ? and was chipped from almost new) A4 quattro sport with 135k miles showing, and that I intend to keep.

Any recommendations as to best supplier for either and what is considerered to be a good price ? General opinion seems to be LUK for standard clutch and DMF.

Anyone had conversion done ?

Any feedback would be VERY greatly appreciated

Many thanks

After having a DMF and clutch replaced on a PD130 golf a few years ago and reading many threads online about flywheels i would personally say go for the DMF. Do a search for single mass flywheel on google, i saw one in a golf and it sounded like a tractor. Stick with the DMF.

personally id just go with the dmf, its lasted 130 odd k, so its not that bad! ive heard horror stories from various garages about smf, but we did used to fit them to the 1.9 tdi octavias a lot from several taxi firms with little trouble, but they were only 110 and 90 horse tdi's not a mapped 130.

Thanks Guys

Monkey, I have read some of the articles having googled. Very interesting.

Think I will go for the LUK DMF set-up

Thanks again
