I was lucky enough to find my B7 full of optional extras from new. The 1st owner spent £32'000. I have now had the car for 3 years and can't quite afford a 3.0tdi A5 that i have my eye on.
I am looking for more bits to bolt on to trick me into thinking i have a new car.
I am interested in the following initially if anyone has any details on:-
- Ambient LED (not sure what this is?)
- RS4 Handbrake & Gear Knob Grips
- RS4 Pedals
- Matt Alu Door Mirrors to match my new grille
anything else??
This is my current spec:-
Adaptive Xenon Lights
Alcantare Upholstery
Dvd Sat Nav
Phone Prep in Facia (bluetooth)
Heated Front seats
Cruise Control
Auto Open boot Lid
Rear Side Airbags
CD auto Changer
Acoustic rear Parking Aid
Bose Surround sound
Comfort pack
m/f Sports Steering Wheel
9-Spoke 18" alloys
Drive lights, get home lights, auto mirror and heated etc...
Interior Electric Pack
Added this week:-
RS4 Front Grille
RS4 ARB
Rear Tints 35%
Re-Paint Front End

Your mods first listed are easy enough to fit- should be easy to source too from dealer or ebay
I have all fitted apart from the RS4 gearknob as the s-line SE already comes with a perforated leather gear knob.
- Ambient LED is a led module which fits into the interior light and gives a nice red glow over the front cabin http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CUSTOM-RED-LED-AUDI-A4-AMBIENT-CONSOLE-LIGHTING-RS4-S4-/200649953059?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb7ab4f23#ht_592wt_1392
- RS4 handbrake cover p/n 8E0711327M8UD
- RS4 gear knob p/n 8E0863278DRTAV
- RS4 pedals http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A4-stainless-steel-pedal-set-Genuine-Audi-RS4-RHD-/260841320188?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cbb5aaefc#ht_1235wt_1392
- S4 Mirror caps are quite expensive OEM, there are plenty of aftermarket ones but I can't vouch for colour or fit quality.
All nice little touches to what sounds an already brilliant car (wish I had the xenons- very expensive to do a proper OEM retrofit :))

I have similar spec in my car.....you didn't mention the sd card mp3 player but that may be part of the sat nav system.
I have the leather interior and retro fitted (or rather paid someone to fit) cruise control.
No rear side air bags or auto mirror etc.
I wish I had the rear seat that would fold down though....or even the hole for skis, although I wouldn't use it for skis!
I just ordered the ambient lighting pack....my previous car (BMW Z4) had it and it was pretty cool.
Just hope I can fit it ok!!!

The sd card slot is part of the sat nav but my main grumble about using this is that all my music is on itunes and i don't think the formats are compatible. ??
I did have a parrot system fitted to play my mp3's but quickly had it taken out and put in the wife's A Class. I lost the use of my CD Changer and i preferred the bluetooth handsfree kit already installed. The sound quality was also slightly iffy, even through the Bose speakers.
I just looked at the ambient lighting pack on ebay for £10, im not sure about this one yet. Let me know how you get on with the fitting, how are they powered?

I have also just ordered EBC Ultimax Discs and redstuff pads all round.
Apparently my current discs are almost transparent. Shame they didn't tell me that when they replaced the pads in April.

Itunes and the RNS-E are compatible if.....you convert your itunes to MP3s which itunes can do without any add ons. Then treat them as normal files. Load up your sd card, and play in car.
I had a look at the ebay auction and they're connected to a wire inside the courtesy light but only come on with the sidelights. So there must be a switched feed in there.
I wondered about buying 2 and doing the rear light too but I'll try one and see how it goes.
If I decide it's junk I'll not be using it.....and either get a better version, or abandon the idea.

Found this thread on another forum and it looks like very similar kit so hopefully a similar result

Thought I'd post the results of the interior ambient lighting.
They arrived today. Slight problem because one of the connections between a resistor and a wire was broken......a quick bit of soldering fixed that so on with the installation.
I followed the included instructions which were fine. A couple of photos would have helped but I managed in around half an hour from start to finish, going at a leisurely pace.
First shot - the LEDs installed in the courtesy light
14876
The LED on the left is ever so slightly lower than the one on the right. Hardly noticeable to the eye but the camera picks up the slight flare. I've ordered the LED interior bulbs as mentioned in another thread so I might adjust that when I'm replacing the bulbs.
A shot from the drivers seat
14877
and one from outside the car
14878
They're slightly shaky and blurred - I didn't fancy getting my tripod out!!
Also, they're a bit redder than in real life because the ISO is cranked up to 3200.
It's quite nice in the car and I'm happy with it

I didn't realise the ambient lighting LEDs were an optional extra. They are nice to have although yours look quite a bit brighter than the OEM ones...

I don't know how bright the OEM ones are but mine aren't too bright.
The images are slightly misleading because it was dark so it tricks the camera into longer exposure, meaning brighter image.
I'm happy with them. :)
