Slight niggle

Hi guys.

I finally got myself a new A6 this weekend and went for 3.0 Lemans auto.

I've been waiting a fair few months for the right car to come up and I must say that it is better than I ever thought it would be.

I have found one little thing that is slightly annoying though and that is that everytime you adjust the temperature or fan aettings the MMI come away from whatever it's showing and shows a heater control page....

Can this be switched off/disabled.??

Dont think it can be unfortunately. On the MMI3G it shows a very small pop-in from the side of the screen showing the temperature settings and fan.

Once you set the temperature nd you push the control wheel thing it goes away straight away.

Actually I think it can be changed - you need access to VCDS or need to have the hidden menu enabled on the MMI.

Please note - this is for MMI 2G, you didn't mention which MMI version is in your car.

Will try that out. Wonder if its under Car Menus Maske?

Or is the +00032 = Climate Control Comfort available actually the AC menu within Car?

In the hidden menu, I think it's under 'DIAG SETTINGS'. It's got the description here: http://mr-fix.pl/2011/01/opis-ukrytego-zielonego-menu-w-mmi-2g/ The site is in polish, I just used Google to translate it to English.

Ah yes I see now - Air condition - activate on-screen preview climatornic'a MMI. Equivalent adaptation module 07, channel 11, the value of the 32nd

Edit - While were on the subject of AC, wasn't there a menu within Car which allowed AC settings to be changed or do you still need to press Setup on the AC unit itself?

Edit #2 - Just looked this up and it seems MMI5570's AC Car Menu is now the Setup button on the AC unit itself.

..colour screen, colour DIS, 56 reg car with no push button in the dial wheel and DVD NAV in the boot.

Hi Tony,

Don't worry, all will make sense :)
From your description, you have an MMI 2G system.
VCDS is a diagnostic software/cable produced by ross-tech (http://ross-tech.com/). It's worth its weight in gold if you plan on maintaining your car yourself.
The hidden menu can be accessed via the MMI system by simultaneously pressing the CAR + SETUP buttons for approx 5 seconds (the hidden menu is not available by default and sometimes has to be activated by using a tool such as VCDS). Via the hidden menu, you can change certain settings and options - be careful as there are some options which can damage the MMI system.
