Please can anyone give me some advise to what SD card I need to play my Itunes on my RNS-E system in car ? I bought a 4g SDHC card but it just says loading and nothing else,so this did not work at all.
I would really like to play my Itunes music in car using SD card slots ,but don't know how ? I did not get a manual with the car ..which i bought last week :(
Any help would be greatly appreciated ?

SDHC will not work. SD only. 4GB max size, limited to 512 tracks per card - that's all the RNSE will read.
Tunes must be .MP3 not iTunes .aac default format, RNSE can only handle mp3.
One little addition to Isaac's excellent advice, you must name your mp3's with only letter and not too long. Otherwise the RNS-e wont' show it on the screen.

Numbers work fine in file names too :)

yes, that's correct. I meant that some of the symbols are problematic and the RNS-E simply doesn't load the file.

There's a free download converter called format factory which will convert the files from i-tunes (aac or m4a) and put the onto the SD card at the same time. If you find 4gb SD cards buy yourself a hand full. They're getting as rare as hens teeth as most systems will be happywith SDHC.

iTunes can convert within it's own program. Right click on the song you want and press Convert To MP3. Simples :)
Then just drag that file from iTunes to the SD card window.

You're right about the mp3 conversion but itunes may have the conversion file as AAC so you need to change it.
From the drop down menu select
Edit
Preferences
General
Just below half way down on that window is an option asking
"When you import a CD" and a drop down box........click "import settings" to the right of this drop down box.
Then select "MP3 Encoder" from the drop down.
Select the quality you require.
Then select "ok" as many times as required to get back to the main program.
Then it's "simples"
:)

Ah thanks for clarifying it. I knew there were different conversion outputs but thought mp3 was the default.
I'll keep that in mind :)
Thanks

I don't think it's the default....but useful to know how to change it anyway :)

FYI - Microcenter (many location) has 4g SD cards. The card does not show a brand but their website shows it as 'Digital Gadgets' brand. The site also shows it bundled with a mini HDMI cable (odd). However, if you've ever been to a Microcenter, they have a place at each check out with non-packaged cards for sale. I just opened the 4g sd drawer and bought it for $4.99.

Beckola.......you do realise this is a uk based site with all the members in uk and ireland?
In my opinion 4gb cards aren't worth it for the RNS-E since there is a file limit of 512. You can fit that many on a 2gb so buying a 4gb has no benefit, unless you plan on loading with lots of long tracks.
