as title, I seam to have a very light hesitation around 70, if I put my foot don it doesn't always want to just go! seams to happen around 1500 revs..

anyone else ever had this or know what it is?

Mark.

Assuming its a manual like mine it should be 2000revs at 70 and I would wonder if its the turbo.Does it do this in any other gear at these Revs?

yes it is a manual, probably a little closer to 2000 revs but around 1800, only really noticeable in 6th although it did do it in a lower gear once the other day, apart from this the car runs great and has tons of torque/power.

how can I check the turbo? it seams very accessible on top of the engine..

update:-

did a 360 mile trip at the weekend and it did the same thing several times at around 70 just wouldn't accelerate like the pedal wasn't even connected and also had slight hesitation but enough for my wife to notice! so I took it to my local indy yesterday here in Doncaster, didn't show any faults on their vagcom system but the guy reckons it could be the N75 unit so he's ordered me one in for the sake of around £30 I'll give it a shot. also reckons it's down on power slightly and I agreed. Apart from that he gave it a clean bill of health and said the turbo/actuator are in good health and with only 48k on the clock I was glad!

there are a few things that can cause this the main ones are vanes are sticking inside the turbo, egr valve sticking, n75 valve, vacuum leak. ive just been through this issue and the vanes inside the turbo were sticking on mine. I used the mr muscle cleaning method and its completely fixed it,also blanked off the egr valve to prevent anymore crud going back through the engine. If you drive a fair bit in traffic the soot builds up inside the turbo and the vanes stick, a good italian tune up once a week usually prevents it.
