rear passenger not locking with the central locking

Hi i'm hoping someone might have an answer. My rear passenger door is not locking with the central locking, although the rest are, n it doesn't unlock remotely either. I am able to lock n unlock manually. it is a 55 sharan.

I have the same problem on my 97 Sharan TDI CL; I don't have a fix but I find that if I lock the car with the rear driver's side door (the one that won't lock) left open all the other doors lock OK, and then I push the door-opening lever in to the locking position and close the door.

Worth a try, maybe?
