Hello,
I am having throtle problems, it's heavy, has had a new cable and been cleaned goes back to the stop ok but the merc benz throttle bodie motor holds revs up in between gear changes, i have been told by a german car garage i need an adaptation done to sort it out, they could not get comms with it for some reason software did not have my engine/van model in. van has necam factory lpg system which was recently serviced but they couldnt sort the throttle out, its the same problem running on gas and petrol.
happy to supply a crate of beer if somone can help, have posted this in the vdcs forum to.
hope you can help.

well intresting fact this vw lt35 petrol lpg is a mercedes v230 engine thanks to c+r diagnostics info, I have noticed since driving the van that the throttle behaves itself much more running on petrol, I have now resorted to using lpg on the mway, and switching back to petrol around town for short runs. seems like the throttle is benefiting somehow to running on petrol in short spells, if i switch back to permanent lpg after a while the throttle holds up in town driving and gets progressivley worse, switch it back to petrol for a while and it calms down again. intresting fact though the throttle is ok in lpg as long as i stick to routine of 2/3 miles petrol once i get closer to home etc. still get nearly 300 miles for 40quids worth of gas 145bhp too, so good running cost for a big van despite having some permanent faulst codes on the ecu, if you read this steve c+r could you advise of the code reader type you used to get comms seeing as vag com would not work.
Thanks
joe

It was an Omitec Omiscan.

With the LPG conversion you will always get permanent fault codes stored. I have found these conversions can have Induction air leaks causing throttle problems. Check manifold bolts etc and also gas conversion parts that are retrofitted to intake manifold.

Got the problem sorted now, Fitted a throttle bodie off a V230 merc and it worked a treat... who would have thought even though the part numbers are different its odviously the same bit of kit. was only £45 of scrappy much less than £1000 from the dealer..
Must admit though when i bought the van considering its a vw lt 35. I thought the motor would have been a VW not a merc v230 engine in camo!! Lucky escape for now then. No throttle adaption needed.
Thanks for assitance with forum just glad i got there in the end few lessons learned on the way..

thanks Alan i will take note of that and check all bolts, just got myself a comms lead of ebay for the ecu plug in round/to scart as i call it sprinter and LT lead. I am also looking for software/reader to read the fault codes myself if possible for future maint, steve at c+r said that the water temp sensor was fluctuatcing when he got comms with it so i am going to change that too, The lpg relies on temps for auto switching over not sure where it gets that signal from cant be the water temp cause mine is goosed and lpg system still works fine.
