Guys, I have the ADS switch fitted but it does not illuminate. The garage (dealership) struggle to make it work and I have the following information from a very helpful ScottyUK.
http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Project_ADS.html

However, I do not want to join the dots so is their anyone out there who knows of an individual or garage with a VCDS and the nouse to make it all happen.

From where I am sitting it all seems so easy, providing you have the equipment and a little bit of knowledge.

Can anyone please help???

If you just want illumination then just hack away the rear and then wire a LED into an ignition live circuit.

Thanks again Scotty, but why hack a perfectly good switch (and an expensive one too) when someone with the required skills can do a whole lot more.

The link you provided makes things look quite simple, but my days of lifting a bonnet are over and so I need someone to do it for me. I suspect that someone with the required skills will be able to complete the job in about 1/2 an hour, but the challenge is always identifying that person.

Cheers

Nick

Where does this magic button go again?

Here is a picture of it in situ, although this is not my car.

Thanks, just have wire it into the powersupply near by is my guess, seeing as you are not going to get any functionality out of it anyway.

sorry can't help with the problem (unless you are in the Southwest sometime in the near future) - just wanted to say thanks for the link to enabling the ADS settings in the MMI via VCDS i hadn't noticed that could be done

have enabled this today and it works a treat - now have the option in the car section of MMI to set steering and throttle to comfort , auto or dynamic - very cool

so once again thanks :D

by coincidence had my first puncture since activating the tyre pressure monitioring function of MMI with VCDS

very impressed , picked up a small nail - no visible deflation of the tyre - warning light came up + message top say rear passenger tyre had lost pressure

as tyre looked ok and at first i couldn't see the nail i thought it was faulty till i checked the tyre pressures - sure enough down from 35 to 30 on that tyre

very pleased (not so when i had to shell out £400 for a pair of sport contact 3's)

so if you didn't get the TPMS as an option and you have VCDS would recommend seeing if you can activate it through VCDS if you haven't already

I have to get that activated on mine as I should have the newer ABS unit on my car.
