Hi Everyone,

I was reading through another thread and noticed someone saying that the MY2010 cars have smaller mirrors then the MY2009 ones.

My car was first registered 11/2010 although its a European model from Austria, and I think the mirrors are huge.

Could anyone post up the differences between the 2010 and 2009 mirrors please (if possible with pics)?

Having had a 2009 car car for 6 months before getting my correctly built car which was a 2010, I can clearly state that the later mirrors are around 25% quieter than the earlier larger ones. I also think they look better.

The other difference is that the 2009 mirrors fold along the car whereas the later ones angle on at around 45 degrees.... at least that how it is on the powered mirrors.

Thanks mate, it helps a lot, I have the new style ones, but still think they are huge.

Yeah mine angle up aswell, now that you say it, they do make a lot of windnoise when compared to the M3 I had before.

i have driven a lot of small mirror cars recently and i reckon they stick out further which actually slightly increases the A pillar blind spot when pulling out of junctions - just my two pennys worth! Noise is slightly reduced perhaps but there is still a lot of wind noise. I also noticed the wind noise on the new A6 which i had assumed would be like running a U-Boat

Yeah from the pics they look wider, and they also start lower.
