Can someone advise me before i take my wheels off......
is it a simple procedure to replace front discs on my audi a4 1.9tdi

One on the easiest jobs you can do.
You are replacing the pads as well !

Thanks for the quick response.
I actually had new pads and discs fitted, but i thought i was getting a good deal from a friend when he supplied me with discs for £20. Maybe i did, but they have since warped (juddering when i brake), guess i didnt bed them in properly. I have looked at the pads and the look absolutely fine (very thick, plenty on them).
Do i need any specialist tools, i own a socket set and allen keys and a hammer!!!!!!

You will need a 6mm hex key to fit the caliper carrier and it will be tight.
Best to have a 1/2inch drive.

Think your find it's a 7mm allan key, well it was on mine. Discs can be rusted to the hub and may require some impact adjustment to free off. Don't use your old pads you only get grief might as well change them while ya there. The caliper mounting bracket bolts are FT so big breaker bar needed should be threadlocked back in same with the caliper slide bolts
