Unpleasant smell from air con

When i turn on the air con i get a very unpleasant smell, its like a mixture of urine n honey, now i get it even in Econ mode. I have recently had the car serviced and changed the pollen filter but this hasnt resolved the problem. Someone has told me to have the air con serviced even though the gas doesnt need replacing yet, wil this work. Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

usually smells like rotten eggs / cabbages....yuk.

Can be caused by NOT using the A/C system regularly enough causing bacteria build up, hence the smell.

If you've changed out your pollen filters you could try one of the Comma air con cleaners from Halfords or similar for around £11.99......close the car, put A/C on full blast with recirc on and active the can and close the doors for 5 minutes, should do the trick.
Thereafter make sure you use the system regularly

Acetic acid, run a cleaner spray through the A/C air system, easy to do and off the shelf from Halfords.

I have used this Comma stuff from Halfords, and yes it works.
