Caddy 104 error code "rA" what does it mean ??

Can anyone help? My beloved Caddy has a big problem. Remote central locking, radio, interior lights and odometer have all stopped working during a re-map. I can lock the doors but only from the drivers door. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Can we have the full fault code and which system are you reading the codes with. As far as I know RA tends to refer to South African market differences. Who was doing the remapping?

Hi Crasher, the guy who did the re-map had loads of equipment and seemed to be very knowledgable about VAG. Even when he removed the remap and returned it to standard spec, it still would not lock with remote key and no interior lights. I don't know the fault code but the odometer showed 1277rA initially, but since i have been driving it, i have noticed that the numbers are increasing as if it is counting the mileage......gggrrrr

That’s really odd, I have never seen that. I would say the software in the instruments ahs somehow been corrupted and will need to be re-flashed or even the instruments replaced but first of all I would try disconnecting the battery. What year is the Caddy?

it is a 2006 104, im driving all day tomorrow but will take it to a VW dealership on Tuesday to see what they say. Will the re-flash remove the re-mapping ?

I think somehow he has upset the instrument software so putting that right should not affect the remap.

You dont mean `tra` do you ? could have gone into `Transport Mode ` by the sounds of it. This is set when new from the factory and cancelled at PDI, so as the C/L and radio work correctly. Can be re-set with Vagcom / dealer.
