Hi,
I'm in the market to replace my current 2008 A4 3.0TDI Quattro and was looking for some help.
Searching used (0-1 year olds) Audis and there isn't (or doesn't seem to be) much choice in 3.0 A4 Quattros.
I'm wondering what I should replace this with A4 2.0TDI quattro? Quattro is a must.
Any help/advice much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello
This is a personal thing and depends on your own out look.
I test drove both last year.
Positives for 3.0
Power
Auto transmission is available
Positives 2.0
Fuel economy
Cost to buy and run
More chance of finding one
IMHO if you do not care about the money I would have the 3.0 every time, but the 2.0 170 isn't a slow car and you have more chance of finding one.

As you can see by my sig I've got the 170 quattro technik - you get quite a lot of kit on the technik for not much more new and I know there are now a few on the market it you look for them.
upsides: leather, sat nav, Audi iPod mmi, front & rear parking sensors in addition to SE kit
downside: you don't get the sline styling including the led lights (but it is cheaper)

I don't think there is an easy answer as it depends largely on what extra's you want and those that you are prepared to live without.
All things being equal if I could have found a 1 year old (no older) 3.0 diesel quattro with auto box and a host of extras for £40k then I would have not bought new. It's like everything in life in that you pays your money ......
The 170 diesel is no slouch and more than fast enough for todays speed camera's. Its the add on's that make the difference and I just found that the cars with all the bits were few and far between and as a result went for a premium, which is strange because I ended up paying less for a new car than I would have for a smilarly spec'd that was an ex demo.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
