Oooops

Deer jumped out of the hedge over the bonnet and clipped the offside front wing and headlight

Ouch .... but not the worst I've seen. You may get away with a relatively cheap fix.

Wildlife is a real fear for me. I do a fair bit of country roads at night .... on a motorbike. Single headlight means less vision and of course no crumple zone etc.

It's such a common thing to happen and I seem to read about it more and more. Closest I've had was seeing a Stag standing on the grass verge. I saw him with about a second to go until I was passed.

They should teach animals the Green Cross code and also make them wear hi-viz!

Umm - maybe i can claim off English Nature! It does kinda **** you up when you see one just standing there when you drive past. I was actually thinking about 20 secs before I hit it that I better watch out for deer.

Looking on the brightside, my car is Monza Silver.

However I am not sure Audi UK will be too pleased as its one of their special "warranty fleet"

Locally to me a cyclist was killed after being hit by a deer. I see them crossing in front of me more often than I like and if they hit your windscreen ....

I'm in Suffolk and you are more than welcome to borrow my Meg GA220 dual action polisher to see if it will polish out.
It's a great bit of kit and I think with scratchx you might be surprised by the results. ;-).

Hi Jakerade

Nasty and I bet you got a hella scare.
I had the unfortunate opportunity to have similar experience with my last A3. However I hit Bambie square in the middle of the bonnet at about 50-60mph and made her fly thorough the air for a few yards. She didn't move far after that! Neither did I, everything infront of the wings had to be replaced and the bonnet and the radiator and quite a lot of other stuff which you can not see.

There is nothing you can do either and that is the frustrating bit.

Thanks guys. You are definitely left with a feeling of "what could i have done to avoid it"

Pitch - luckily they are giving me another car to have a crack at today. However if you really want to put your GA220 to good use i have a Porsche in the garage that could use your attention :) On a serious note, how difficult are those things to use as i was thinking of buying one but was never sure what compounds and all that lark to use?

They are pretty easy to use with practice.
You are more than welcome to have a whirl with mine to see what you think. I have a number of compounds also to try.

The results with some work can be stunning.
