Air con problem the econ button wont turn off

Hi folks

has anyone come across the fact that there econ button wont turn off when you try to put the air con on.

i have had the car checked for faults and there is nothing.

wondered if anyone had come accross this before any help would be appreciated.

it has been suggested that its the control panel at fault just wondered why the rest of the buttons work, i.e all directions and cirulation work but cant turn the econ button off.

That should be low pressure which should come up as a fault.

I had this problem in my previous A3, I believe it was something do with a valve, which as crasher says lead to low pressure.

I was also advised to use the air con more to stop the valves / system "drying out" which leads to the problem in the first place.

Fuse 4 (10amp micro fuse) in the dash fusebox. It's located behind panel on end, , of dash. Mine blew and wouldn't switch off ECON. Probably something else but worth a look!
