musty smell

I have had my 2002 passat estate tdi for 18months now and think its great. When I bought it it had a realy bad musty smell, it was leaking water through the pollen filter housing. I fixed that took out the seats and carpet and gave them a really good clean (disenfectant).
I also used the canister wnich you release in the car which is supposed to sort out smells from the aircon. The smell has almost completely gone except when the blower is on or tne aircon is used. It is not unbearable but want to bet rid of it. ''The pollen filter has been changed.
Any ideas appreciated.

Look for stagnant water where the battery sits, and under the carpets for round 2.

If the smell stops when you use the recirc button, its coming from outside the cabin.

If it gets worse when you use the windscreen washers, the washer-bottle has gone legionnaire on you.

Thanks, the car is bone dry since sealing the pollen ffilter housing , and the drains in the plenum have been sorted.
I will try the recirc, although I have had it on recirc before and didnt notice much difference.
Will let you know how I get on :-)
