Hi guys,

I am really in need of some help on this one,

I have a 2005 Audi A3 1.9Tdi Sportback. The engine struggles to start when I have been using it, and the engine is warm. For example if I drive for half an hour to drive to the shop for example, run into the shop and come out 5 minutes later it will take 3 or 4 attempts to start? Real pain in the ***.

I had the engine reconditioned a few months ago, but this problem has just started.

It also happens when the fuel level gets any where near the red line? I have had the RAC out twice now and their advice was to just sell it and get rid.

I don't really want to get anything new at the minute but if that's the only option then so be it!

Any ideas on what the problem could be to save me spending more money than necessary on a new car!?

Thanks

Smithy

Have a look for any sensor plugs adrift. The engine has been repaired, possibility a plug has been missed off. Have a fault code read also.

Thanks for the quick response :) Will have a look for that. The RAC Technician plugged into the ECU and there were no fault codes present and he said he uses the same system as the VAG technicians use.

Think the best option is to just take it to a specialist see what they can find? Don't fancy paying through the nose for it, or being mislead so a heads up on what the problem would be fantastic.

Thanks again Alain.
