Aux Heater VCDS code 01414 Combustion Air Blower (V6) 36-00 Open Circuit

2004 Alhambra 1.9 Tdi - VCDS shows above code - anybody know if it's the actual blower or a wiring / fuse problem? Aux heater was stripped last year and glow plug replaced and was working normally at end of last winter

Gosh that seems a long time ago, as the code came up in July I assume it must have been from a VCDS check as the heater wouldn't have been operating in July.
The heater was removed for a full service early 2012 and a) There were several breaks in the short wiring harness attached to it (the wire conductors had actually disintegrated) and b) I was told by the service guy that the combustion blower had seized. I got mine done through a friend of a friend of a friend at a boatyard who knew a retired Eberspacher engineer so no idea where. It came back and it worked. If you are mechanically minded they are quite easy to strip the snag comes if you require parts - they are available but not cheap. My money would be on you having a broken wire .
