Hi - my 2007 a4 avant, with 45k miles has just had its major service and come back with an advisory note on the clutch. I had asked them to look at it due to a very high bite point. Have been told it is high, plus pedal stiff. Audi price is about £650 for the job, posibly more if the fly wheel has problems. Does anyone else have experience of clutch replacement in A4 B7 - £650 seems a lot, plus 45k miles seems low to need one - I have never had to do a clutch before, so i don;t think my driving style is to blame. any thoughts would be appreciated. Rob

They're touting for work,if its not being done for free ignore it,carry on driving till it starts slipping or juddering.

I have exactly the same car but with 58k and have just had a quote for a new DMF and clutch for £1200 through an independent garage. Unfortunately i think this is a common fault on these cars.

thanks for the feedback - while in the garage, I was also told the cambelt needs doing at next years service. Maybe before too long I should move it on! £2k for the two jobs, will go a long way towards getting something a couple years younger.

Audi are doing a cam belt for £399 at the moment:
