Hi guy's, I think I have a problem with corroded terminals on ECU. Can anyone please tell me where the ECU is and whether it's a pain to get to (how long) 1999 A6 1.9 Tdi. I'd much appreciate any feedback. Thanks

How do you know it is corroded if you do not know where it is. It is in the Engine Electronics box under the removeable black scuttle cover in front of the driver. Remove the rubber seal the runs across the bulkhead and remove the cover. The ECU is in the black box on the drivers side. The lid has a water seal in it so remove gentle so as not to tear the seal. Thanks Peter, after suffering this intermittent fault over the past 7-8 months, called in at local auto/elec. fault read as " throttle sensor " had a new fitted but 4 months later still the same fault. Now trying main dealer, it was they who said it is corroded wiring/terminals. I'm a bit disappointed in the service I have received so far and as it is going in next week to get fixed I would like to have a bit of knowledge regarding the prob. regards Jim
