A4 Black Edition Avant

Hey all,

First post on here but i frequently have a nosey around for info.

Anyway, i'm in a quandry so thought i'd seek other peoples recommendations so that, in all likelihood, i can still make the same decision :)

But, to discuss will help as right now, quite frankly, i don't have a clue!

The nuts of the problem is:

The wheels on the black edition are lovely. They need a great colour on the car to show them off. I previously had a white a4 s-line saloon 170 before they became ten a penny and vowed to myself to not get something quite so 'showy' again. Personally i think aesthetically they look fantastic.

The trick is to find a body colour that really brings the wheels out....i was thinking monsoon grey but i believe this is a new colour and hence trying to see one in the flesh will be tricky.....has this been used on other models at all?

Having seen a white black edition at the services today i almost got too excited. Damn it. What about the glacier white?! :)

Help/ramblings/2p's appreciated.

First of all Welcome to the forum :)

I love the Black Editions, even across the whole range.

I spotted a A6 BE for sale by Audi and the paint was black, windows were black, wheels were black, leather/interior was black and it looked great!

Ive also seen an A4 BE in Red. The red looked good against the black trim and wheels and it made it a really attractive car to look at. I'm not a red person but seeing that brought the love back to the colour.

You should look on the Used Audi site and see what cars have the BE fitted and the variation of colours it's fitted to.

If you ever get a new BE make sure you post plenty of pics!

My pal has just taken delivery of a Brilliant Black Black Edition Avant and it looks the muts.

I Dont think you would go far wrong if you can live with black.

Having lived with Lava for nearly two years it is a great colour and sparkles all shades in the sun, but have not seen one in BE spec.

Seen Black ed in white with rotors and doesn't suit it. Go for the 19" 5 spokes looks awesome. However personally I think white looks a bit showy and chavvy.

I ummed and rrrrrrr'd for a long while over the colour, a decision made no easier due to the lack of cars in stock in the colours I was looking at. Initially, i ordered Glacier White then saw it on an S4 at Stockport Audi and very quickly changed my mind. I had one of the first white B8 A4's a few years back when it was really quite rare, nowadays they're ten a penny and having seen a few pics online of monsoon grey and comparing colour swatches in various lights i settled on the Monsoon. I'm hoping it will look really quite suave :)

I also have an old bluefin that i am going to have reprogrammed for this motor, having installed it on a previous 170tdi i can only describe the results as fantastic.

I'll get pics up when it arrives but i'm looking at end of october now!
