I have a 2.0L 143Bhp Tdi, after switching the engine off there is a whirring noise from the engine bay, I've noticed coolant being pumped away from the radiator to the header tank, I am assuming its normal, my question is why? I have my own thoughts on this matter but would like to hear from those who are more informed, thanking you all in anticipation.

At a guess the whirring will be a motor of some kind, possibly an inlet flap or something, as for the coolant thats normal as its still circulating after the engines turned off through convection.
Most modern cars have a bit of whirring after you turn them off, unless its really loud or sounds strained dont worry about it.
