A4 2.0 se smoking a bit and using oil ???

Hi my a4 2.0 se 2002 petrol needs the oil topping up nearly every week now and iv noticed a little smoke from the pipe ,does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

asking whats wrong with an engine is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string, we need a bit more info. so here goes a blind guess, if the engine smokes on start up then it could be valve stem seals so head rebuild if the engine smokes all the time its running then it could be piston rings but it could be a whole other thing like blocked breather pipes, let us know
