I have had the A6 a couple of weeks. I have just lifted the engine cover. I know I should have done it earlier. There is a pipe running from the front right to i guess the turbo. Its an alloy pipe it is jointed there isin the middle of the engine a joint with a sort of a nipple next to it. that joint looks not tight and there is real black oil all around the area. I want to know what the pipe does and am i loosing power or efficiency i guess its an easy fix. I guess i am doing about 21mpg but where i live there is no long straight runs so i am guessing thats expected. i have tried to use vcds and an old lead. touque convertor lock off and engine mount valve where the faults i cant clear the touque convertor one.
2000 A6 2.5TDI quattro Avant 9300 miles has been serviced every 9000 miles apart from the last 15000

Sounds like the usual boost pipe oil weep, very common and nothing to worry about.

Interesting....
Is there a cure without having to empty my wallet?
I'm a finicky about oil leaks and oil stains on my driveway.

TIA.

Regards.
