The front passenger electric window has stopped working on both door switches. I've checked the fuses, all good. I have thumped it in case of a loose connection, to no avail.

Not the switch, unless both have gone. Not a fuse. Next will be to check the power to the motor. It would appear that replacement motor starts from around £40 on eBay.

Probably not connected but the symphony stereo went wonkey the other day. £45 saw some capacitors replaced and now all good. The window went at roughly the same time.

Any ideas gratefully appreciated please?

Steve

I should get it scanned for fault codes before you go down the new motor route !

Maybe something got disturbed when removing the Symphony head unit. ?

Ive fitted a second hand motor from eBay and run a VagCom diagnostics on the car, it shows the following fault:

Address 52
00933 - Electric Window Motor; passenger side (V148)
012 - Electric fault in circuit

now I would have though that was a fault in the motor it's self, but not so says the eBay seller. To be fair he seems to know his stuff re VagCom etc.

I'm now looking at two problem areas, either a break in the wiringing probably around the door hinge or the switch is faulty. Though neither front switches work.....

Any other ideas on a postcard please!!!

Steve
