Hi all,

Just purchased our first A4 its a 05 S line 2.0T Quattro in blue with 23000 miles and its like new we're really pleased with it. Its going to be my wifes car, she has a iphone 4 and would like to play music and use the phone through the car. Now its fitting with a standard single cd player and a colour DIS but no mfsw, i've been looking at the Dension 100 has anyone got it fitting to their car and would you recommend it and also would it work with the equipment in the car.

Many thanks in advance
Aide

I have the Dension 300 which is basically the same unit but with the advantage of a USB port so I have connected a 120GB Hard Drive to mine :D

The Dension is a great bit of kit. For the iPhone you will really need a cradle so you can still use satnav etc. with it. I have my cradle mounted to the right of the steering wheel which is neat and out of the way.

I got mine professionally fitted with unit and cradle for around £150

I to have a Dension. I originally bought the gateway 100 but for some reason it didnt work with some ipods. Dension said it should have worked as they had tested it so gave me a free upgrade to the 300. It works very well and if you want DIS to work then its really the only make to go for.

Note though for the DIS display to work you need to control the iphone in GW mode where the stereo itself controls the playback. In this mode you cant really use the iphone. If you want to use the iphone for other stuff you need to have it in UI mode and you will loose the DIS display.

Having a mfsw doesnt really help anyway.
You press CD+ which brings up the menu on the DIS and then use the right knob on the radio to switch between the options and press the FF button to select the option. This allows you to change the mode and select playlists and artists etc...

And if you have a lot of music, this interface is very very slow to find what you want...
