Just developed a very nice speed related whine especially when slowing. In gear or out of gear makes no difference and its not coming from a wheel (eg wheel bearing)
I suspect its a gearbox bearing gone..... Booked in for investigation tmrw.
Any one had anything similar?

I have noticed something similar when slowing, it appears at just above 2000 revs and disapears at just below. The noise seems to come from the passenger side but could just be my hearing

mine isnt related to Revs as it does it in neutral. I did try stopping the engine whilst driving last night but its not possible!

Sounds like different kind of whines! Sorry I can't help but would be interested to know how you get on after the investigation.
Cheers

I suspect it will be long and drawn out. Sounds like a pinion bearing or similar to me although I am no expert

It was the drivers side wheel bearing in the end
