Power steering fault comes up on the dash, scan shows fault on engine speed sensor.
Cleared the fault but returns within a mile or 2.

Surely the engine speed sensor is on the engine? It'll read crankshaft speed at the flywheel, hence it'll be in the engine block (at the flywheel end)

If you was to see the reply to a PM to Crasher i think you would pay to have it done.
The engine is a BKD, different from the pic, the bolt is behind the oil filter/cooler and has a habit of destroying the insert it screws into which is part of the crank rear oil seal holder, so needing the gearbox/ clutch and flywheel to be removed.....cars booked in tomorrow.....

Thanks mate lol, thankfully i didnt get stitched up today even a new shape focus power steering pipe replacement didnt mess the day up

you have j500 (pas control unit) and G269 (steering movement sensor) g28 is also defined on gen 1 racks as g577 steering motor speed sensor

so the hole rack with control unit needs replacing, this will be a gen 3 rack so a flash may also be required

engine speed sender/crank rpm sender should not be confused with this fault as the g577 checks the speed of the rack motor but it used g28 as a fault code on gen 1 racks
