hello and...erm.....HELP!! :-/

Hello - new to site, thought i'd have a gander at this site - looks good!

I have an Audi A3 (2003) 2.0 TDI sport - I wonder if anyone can help me.....on tick over the engine kinda has a little "blip"............kind of like a heart murmur or something - nothing too aggressive...just a small rumble of the engine....anyone know what this could be?

yes, its egr bounce and completely normal

egr is dirty air and therefore not combustibility so from time to time when inducted this will cause a very slight combustion bounce (dirty air and clean air mixing)

don't go down the route of others trying to fix it as its acceptable with modern emission regulations then egr is a requirement and in the ideal world we wouldn't need these nox reduction measures but we do and it causes very slight idle imbalance

if unsure then look at mvb 13 for fuel injection quantity at idle and mvb 4 for timing angle and egr against airmass with vcds

egr and airmass will fluctuate at idle so blip the throttle and then check actual against specified

if its not broke don't fk about with it

ahhhh.....I see.......lol no idea what "mvb 13" etc is....however I understood the part where "it's normal"
