I wonder if anyone else has had this recall. I had the car back at the dealership on Teesside for AC diagnostics when they said there was also a recall on the windscreen wiper frame?
I asked them what the work involved but the receptionist was unsure. I booked the car in for the work and on getting the car back asked if any parts had been replaced they said no, all that had been done was insertion of some spacers and the frame realigned.
Now, I know that my wiper linkage frame was in some state, having removed it myself after it seizing up last year and me accidentally snapping off one of the lugs in my keeness to fix it. The wipers had begun to stiffen up again and the wiper was not travelling the full extent of the screen.
Lo and behold though, when I did check up on my car and opened the bonnet, there was a shiny new linkage assembly to be seen. Now I'm not complaining about this......in fact I'm ecstatic about it, but am just wondering if this recall is common knowledge, or have I just been lucky?
My car is a 55 plate Sharan TDi SE out of warranty.
Hope this is of help to someone?
