Hi there,
needed to remove front wheel, when trying to unscrew locking bolts (were very very tight) I managed to snap one of 5... :zx11:
Any idea how it can be removed ?
Thank you,
Dan

Did you snap the head off the locking one or one of the normal ones? Most tyre places should be able to cope with drilling out the knackered bolt, brazing something onto the remaining thread and removing it......I've had to have it done in the past and they actually did it at my local garage with no dramas and only a tiny scratch on the alloy....

Bolt head snapped off and threads left in the hole....I have tried to smash socket, drilled hole and smashed torx t45 in, but without any luck ...http://uk-mkivs.net/emoticons/emotion-3.gif

Have spent about 4 hours today trying to remove bold...http://uk-audis.net/emoticons/emotion-12.gif. Had brake caliper and disc down so I could use vice, drilled hole and tried to smash torx inside - no success.
How easy is to change hub ?
Also when I placed pads back, wear indicator on dash was on and it is still there, but pads are still about 4 mm thick... do I need to change them?

I've always had much greater success using a spline bit (3 sq.) rather than a torxs bit as the spline bit has more "teeth" and has square splines. If you can get the complete wheel off ( & prefarably the disc) your local TIG welder can usually heat the remains of the bolt to bright red hot and it should then yield to the spline bit. The red heat should break the the rust/corrosion bond.
At least now you know how important it is to keep your wheel bolts free form rust - use a little copper anti-seize paste on the threads after removing the rust . You must have used quite a large wrench/high torque to shear the bolt.

Thanks guys for all your replies. I am going to the garage on Saturday so hopefully they will sort it.
Yes, I have used large/long wrench.
