Loss of power and vibrations

Evening all,

Whilst the missus was driving today the car started to shudder with a loss of power and the engine management light came on.

I had a drive when I got home and can confirm the engine mangement light flashes on start, there is a shudder and it power is very sluggish.

I know I need to get the VAGCOM code, hopefully my local garage can fit me in tomorrow. But, any ideas what the potential issue might be and typical cost?

Could be maf or coil pack(s) i would have thought as a first suspect.

I agree, Coil Packs. Mine did this too. I bought 4 new ones from Audi and fitted them myself and I think it cost around £120 ish (cant remember off the top of my head) but its an easy job to do anyway.

Yep just as suggested it turned out to be coil pack #1. I suspect the other 3 will pop their clogs over time now too, but thankfully cheap and easy to replace.
